Castles

We have been making our own shields. We were given card, coloured pencils and patterned tape to create a shield design. We then had to work out the best way to attach the handle on the back.

We have also been learning about the different parts of a castle, like the drawbridge, moat and the portcullis. We have learnt the names of famous castles found in the four countries of the UK.

Our castle classroom

In Maths we have been learning how to construct tally charts and block graphs as well as learning how to tell the time

In Science we have been investigating the properties of different materials. We have been identifying the similarities and differences between materials and trying to group and classify them in different ways

We had a castle building day! We worked in small groups to build castles out of paper and card and we worked on our own to build a castle out of clay. We also got to use Lego and blocks to build castles.

We have been creating pictures using the tap tap blocks and tools

In our Computing sessions we have been using an app called 'Scratch' on the iPads to learn how to write our own code. We have created our own characters and settings and added movement and sound to finish our animations.
