Everything grows

In Science we had fun watching volcanoes erupt. We used bicarbonate of soda, red food colouring and vinegar to make the eruption. It looked just like lava bubbling out of the volcano!

We have welcomed some new additions to Year One in the form of twenty caterpillars. We will watch them grow each day before they turn into a chrysalis and eventually into butterflies when we will release them. Look at the pictures below to watch their progress!

One of our butterflies emerging from it's chrysalis on Tuesday 28th March.

Butterfly Release - Friday 31st March. We finally released our butterflies and luckily they were happy to crawl gently over our hands as they landed making it an exciting time!

We have been planting our own broad bean seeds. We will watch them grow over the half term and complete a diary to show how they change as they grow.
