Maths challenges

There are a few websites you can use to practise maths with your child (below). If you can encourage your child to use maths in everyday life it will help to reinforce these skills - like counting how many objects there are or talking through problems eg. I have 10 biscuits, Jamie ate 2, how many do we have left?

So far in year 1 we have been working on:

- place value and number recognition up to 20 (some up to 100)

- number bonds to 10

- number bonds to 20

- 2 digit and 1 digit addition / subtraction

- recognising 2d shapes

- looking at the properties of 2d shapes (number of sides/corners)
