READING

This is an opportunity for your child to read a book to you. They can choose to read their book bag book that they will have from school. You can also visit the oxford owl website and choose a book of the same level for them to read to you.

https://home.oxfordowl.co.uk/reading/free-ebooks/

Please ensure that you spend time talking about the words/vocabulary at the beginning of the book before you start and that you talk about the questions at the end of the book as well.

ENGLISH

We have looked at the story of The Gingerbread Man all week.

For your work today, we would like you to draw a picture of the gingerbread man next to your favourite animal that he meets from the story.

Under your picture please write a simple sentence to say who you have drawn eg ‘The gingerbread man and the horse/fox/pig/dog/cat’ etc… Use your sounds to help write the words you need.

Ask your adult to send your completed work into school using your class email address.

MATHS

Using everyday objects from home, (buttons, cereal, pasta), ask your adult to set out 2 groups of your objects

eg

                                          smiley   smiley    smiley                                                         smiley     smiley

Now write down the complete sum and work out the answer.

                       3  + 2 = 5

Try to complete 10.

If you enjoy this activity you could have a go at working on your own and doing more!
