Weekly Homework

14.12.20 We trust that you are all well and keeping safe. Please find activities for the children for this coming week. Our theme continues to be Christmas with a focus on traditions during the lead up to Christmas. Talk about what you know about Christmas and any traditions that you might follow as a family.

Here are a few more activities for you have a go at this week;

Shape hunt around the house - have a look around the house and see how many objects you can find that are circles, squares, triangles, rectangles and hexagons. have a go at drawing some of the things you find.

Shape pictures - Have a look at the Christmas tree shape picture- can you create a shape picture of your own?

Write a letter to Santa - Is there something you would like to ask Santa for? Can you write a letter to him and have a go at writing what you would like? Or you could write a letter to the Early Years staff letting them know what you have been doing while you have been at home.

Design a Christmas card - can you make your own Christmas card? What picture could you put on the front of the card? Who are you going to send it to?

Education City - have a look at the new activities set up for this week.

We would love to see how your child gets on with the set activities. Please remember to share some pictures of your child's work by emailing photos to the Robins email address.

7.12.20 We hope everyone is keeping well and staying safe. Over the next two weeks we will be adding activities for the children to work on at home. There will be a range of activities to reflect the different areas of the curriculum and the learning that we would have been working on at school. We hope they are activities that you and your child will enjoy.

Please also look on Education City for further activities. We have set a selection of activities linked to our maths and phonics learning. Please check the homework section to access these.

Also remember to have a look on the oxford owl website for online reading books. You can also access support for phonics on the website. All children have worked on all their single sounds and also ch, sh, th, ng, nk. It would support your child if you continued to reinforce these sounds at home. The correct way to say each sound can be found on the Oxford Owl site.

Please give your child the opportunity to read their school reading book at least 3 times each week. Please remember  to return books to school on a Wednesday. Books will be changed weekly and  sent home on a Friday.
