You will need the ‘ow’ and ‘oa’ writing sheet.
Our sounds for today are ‘oa’ and ‘ow’. Before you complete the activity, say the sounds first, look at the pictures in each box and then write the words that match each picture by sounding them out each time. Once you have completed the first part of the activity, you will then need to choose 4 objects and put the words into an interesting sentence.
Ask your adult to send your completed work into school using your class email address.
You will need the ‘What am I?’ food riddles sheet. Don’t worry if you can’t print the sheet, you just need to be able to read the riddle. Record your answers on a separate piece of paper if needed.
Read through each riddle (ask an adult to help if you get stuck). Try to work out what food product is being described. Draw a picture and write the name of the food to show your answer.
You will need the + and – calculation sheet from the website and a pencil today. Don’t worry if you can’t print the sheet, you can copy one calculation at a time and answer it just as you would from the white board at school.
The sheet is split into 2 sections. Answer as many of these calculations as you can in Section 1. If you manage to complete all of these then move on to section 2 as well. If you are finding the calculations tricky by the end of section 1 then you can stop there. Remember to think carefully about the different strategies we have been using in school. Counting on/back from the largest number.
Ask your adult to send your completed work into school using you class email address.
Follow the link to a video on the BBC Bitesize called ‘attacking and defending castles’
Watch the video and listen to what they tell you about why castles were built in certain places and what they did to help defend them from any attacks.
Complete the short quiz about defending your own castle.
Design and make a poster to tell us at least 3 ways you could/would defend your own castle if you lived in one. You can use ideas from the video you have watched or you can create some of your own ideas for defending a castle.
