RWI

You will need the ‘ir’, ‘ur’ and ‘er’ writing sheet.

Our sounds for today are ‘ir’, ‘ur’ and ‘er’. Before you complete the activity, say the sounds first, look at the pictures in each box and then write the words that match each picture by sounding them out each time. Once you have completed the first part of the activity, you will then need to choose 4 of the objects and put the words into an interesting sentence.

Ask your adult to send your completed work into school using your class email address.

READING

Share a book of your choosing with an adult. Spend 20 minutes reading and discussing what you have read.

Holiday News

The last week seemed to go by very quickly but we wonder what you managed to get up to during that time?

Please write as much as you can to tell us about some of the things you did during your holiday over the last week. (at least 4 sentences)

Ask your adult to send your completed work into school using your class email address.

MATHS

You will need the + and – calculation sheet from the website and a pencil today. Don’t worry if you can’t print the sheet, you can copy one calculation at a time and answer it just as you would from the white board at school.

The sheet is split into 3 sections this week. Answer all the calculations in Section 1. If you manage to complete all of these then move on to section 2 and 3 as well. Remember to think carefully about the different strategies we have been using in school. Counting on/back from the largest number.

Ask your adult to send your completed work into school using you class email address.

TOPIC

You will need the ‘What is weather’ powerpoint and your ‘My Weather Diary’ booklet. (You can collect a diary from school if this is easier)

Today’s lesson is all about understanding and observing the types of weather we experience in the UK. Work through the powerpoint with an adult looking at each of the weather types.

Each day this week we would like you to record the daily weather in your own ‘Weather Diary’. Please write a sentence to say what you can see, a sentence to say what you can hear and then add a drawing of the weather for that day. You could draw yourself each day and then draw the weather symbol to show what the weather is like. Please label your picture as well (eg. Today it is sunny, rainy, cloudy, windy)

Ask your adult to send your completed work into school using your class email address.
