RWI

You will need the ‘igh’ and ‘i_e’ writing sheet.

Our sounds for today are ‘igh’ and ‘i_e’. Before you complete the activity, say the sounds first, look at the pictures in each box and then write the words that match each picture by sounding them out each time. Once you have completed the first part of the activity, you will then need to choose 4 of the objects and put the words into an interesting sentence.

Ask your adult to send your completed work into school using your class email address.

READING

Share a book of your choosing with an adult. Spend 20 minutes reading and discussing what you have read. You can also listen to Mrs Belkouche’ story in our website and try to think of who the characters remind you of and what kind of ending you can come up with. 😊

ENGLISH

Activity 1: You will need the ‘Reading comprehension?’ sheet. Don’t worry if you can’t print the sheet, you just need to be able to read the sentences. You can draw your answers on a separate sheet if needed.

Read through each short sentence (Try to do this on your own as much as possible). Work out what the sentence is asking you to add to the picture already there. Draw what is needed and then colour the pictures if you wish.

Activity 2: You will need the ‘On the River’ comprehension sheet. Again, you can write your answers on a separate sheet rather than print it out if needed.

Read through the On the River sentences in order (try to do this as independently as you can). Once you have finished reading the text, try to answer the questions about what you have read.

Ask your adult to send your completed work into school using your class email address.

MATHS

You will need the + and – calculation sheet from the website and a pencil today. Don’t worry if you can’t print the sheet, you can copy one calculation at a time and answer it just as you would from the white board at school.

The sheet is split into 3 sections this week. Answer all the calculations in Section 1. If you manage to complete all of these then move on to section 2 and 3 as well. Remember to think carefully about the different strategies we have been using in school. Counting on/back from the largest number.

Ask your adult to send your completed work into school using you class email address.

TOPIC

You will need the ‘Label the countries of the UK’ sheet

Please watch the youtube clip about the countries of the UK.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kU_SpzWKtqE

Discuss with an adult what you remember at the end of the clip

You can also use and work through the PowerPoint ‘The United Kingdom Information’ to find out a few further facts about each of the four countries of the UK.

Once you are sure you can remember the names of the four countries, then complete the labelling sheet by adding the country names in the correct places on the map.

EXT: add the names of the capital cities if you can remember these.

Ask your adult to send your completed work into school using you class email address.
