Join in with the ‘My turn, your turn’ parts of the video and have a go at spelling each of the words asked of you.

Part 2 – Dictation: Once you have got your list of words, ask an adult to read out the following sentences for you to have a go at writing yourself.

I’m not scared to care and share.

I dare you to stare at the square.

Ask your adult to send your completed work into school using your class email address.

Castle story – End

Listen to the story ‘Castle Adventure’ again if you want to or think back to what you remember from Tuesday. Think about the following things while you listen to the story: What did the characters do in the story? How did it make them feel? How does the story end?

As we said we are trying to create a whole story this week and today our focus is on the end of the story and you are going to create a new ending for your own castle story. Think about and include the following things in your story ending today

  • What have the characters done? Did they manage to deal with any problems?
  • What happened to the characters at the end? How did they all feel?
  • Language to end a story (eg The End, They all lived happily ever after)
  •

Write at least 3 sentences for the end of your story.

Illustrate the end of your story with a picture linked to what happened.

Ask your adult to send your completed work into school using your class email address.

READING

Once you have finished writing your castle stories, then we would like to read them back to someone in your family. If possible get somebody to record you reading your story and send it through to us. We would love to upload some of your videos to our class pages on the website for everyone to listen to. If you are happy for this to happen, can you please confirm your permission when you send the video over to us. Thankyou!

MATHS

You will need the ‘telling the time – half past’ powerpoint and the ice cream matching time activity.

Work through the powerpoint to understand where the minute and hour hands need to be on a clock to show a ‘half past’ time. Practise making some of these times using your own clocks you made yesterday.

Use the ice cream matching activity. Cut out the scoops of ice cream, then stick them on top of the correct ice cream cone to match the times.

Ask your adult to send your completed work into school using your class email address.

TOPIC

Chinese New Year – Celebrations

You will need the ‘Chinese New Year Celebrations’ powerpoint and the Celebrations writing activity.

With an adult read through the powerpoint on how the Chinese New Year is celebrated. Try to remember some of the key things that they do at this time of year? What colour do they feel is lucky?

Complete 4 simple sentences on the writing activity sheet to explain some of the traditions that are observed at Chinese New Year. Look at each of the pictures and think about what you could write to describe them. Use a separate piece of paper if you need more room for your sentences.

Ask your adult to send your completed work into school using your class email address.
