# Tuesday

Maths

You will need the double and half game sheet, a dice, a small object for each person playing

This game is to support children’s quick recall of doubling and halving numbers.  This can also be linked to multiplying by 2 and dividing by 2.  We encourage you to play this game everyday this week with your child.  If you have other family members at home maybe they could join in too.

At the end of the week please let us know if your doubling and halving skills improved by becoming quicker at answering.

You will need a tablet, computer, laptop or phone for today’s work.

You will need to login to your My Maths portal today.  Your lesson is Yr2 Simple fractions.  Work through the lesson with your child talking around any areas they are unsure about.   Then encourage them to complete the online homework independently.

There is no work to email in today for maths as your teacher will be able to see your online homework.

English:

You will need an iPad/tablet/laptop, your Stickman story board sheet, the Stickman beginning sheet and a pencil.

Watch the Story beginning video.

Have a look at your story plan as you will need to use circles 1 and 2 today in your story beginning.

Now you will be writing the beginning of your Stick Man story. You need to start by introducing your characters and telling us where the story will start, circles 1 and 2 should help with this. In Julia Donaldson’s Stick Man story she starts the story by telling us about Stick Man, his family and where they live then the adventure begins, she writes: Stick Man lives in his family tree with his Stick Lady Love and his stick children three. Then Julia moves onto the start of Stick Mans adventure.

Happy writing and don’t forget to use verbs, nouns and adjectives in your writing. When you have finished writing you can use the boxes at the top of the page to illustrate what you have written in your story beginning.

## Writing the beginning of your story:

PE:

You will need: iPad/tablet/laptop. 4 pairs of socks, 4 pieces of a4 paper and a timer.

This week we challenge you to beat the teach at the sock time challenge: Watch the video.

Place the pieces of paper on the floor one in front of you, one behind you, one to the left of you and one to the right of you. Your challenge is to get the quickest time to place a pair of socks on each piece of paper then pick them up. Once you have placed and collected all pairs of socks stop the timer

If you want to challenge yourself, you can try it on one foot, like they do here:

Ask an adult to let us know how long it took you to complete.

Now complete the squish the fish cosmic kids yoga session using the link below:

## Beat the Teacher

If this is too easy for you, why not try on just one leg?
Or try with 6 pairs of socks and pieces of paper!
Good luck!
