Join in with the ‘My turn, your turn’ parts of the video and have a go at spelling each of the words asked of you.

Part 2 – Dictation: Once you have got your list of words, ask an adult to read out the following sentences for you to have a go at writing yourself.

The girl likes to twirl in her skirt.

A bird fell chirping in to the dirt.

ENGLISH

Handwriting

Today in our handwriting we are going to look at writing some key words that we use in Year 1. Again remember to focus on those letters are taller than the others and make sure these letters touch the line above, including those letters that are our capital letters.

Find the example sheet that we have written out for you and copy the words underneath where we have done them.

Words we are practising: today, tomorrow, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday

Ask your adult to send your completed work into school using your class email address.

MATHS

You will need the ‘Coin Reveal’ powerpoint and the Coin Recognition Activity Sheet. You can also complete the Coin recognition matching activity if you wish (this is an optional and additional activity)

Work through the coin reveal powerpoint to find out about each of the different coins we use here in England. Look closely at what each of them look like in terms of their colour and shape.

Use the coin recognition activity sheet – cut out each of the coins and stick them next to the correct amount in the table provided.

Ask your adult to send your completed work into school using your class email address.
