Part 1 - Spellings: For today’s activity, we will be looking at the sound ‘or’ that we started looking at yesterday. Watch the video that talks you through the spellings section of this lesson. Join in with the ‘My turn, your turn’ parts of the video and have a go at spelling each of the words asked of you.

Part 2 – Dictation: Once you have got your list of words, ask an adult to read out the following sentences for you to have a go at writing yourself.

The story was about a horse in the storm.

## Part 6

MATHS

You will need the ‘Making totals’ purses and the ‘coins to cut out and use’ sheet.

Making totals. Today we are going to explore how we can make different money totals using different combinations of the coins we learned about last week.

For example if we wanted to make a total of 10p we could do it in a number of different ways:

1. We could use ten 1p coins – 1p + 1p + 1p + 1p + 1p + 1p + 1p + 1p + 1p + 1p = 10p
2. We could use five 2p coins – 2p + 2p + 2p + 2p + 2p = 10p
3. We could use two 5p coins – 5p + 5p = 10p
4. We could use a mix of 1p and 2p coins – 2p + 2p + 2p + 1p + 1p + 1p + 1p = 10p

Take each of the purses one at a time and try to find at least three different ways to make that total. Cut up the coins and use these to help make your totals or use real coins if you have enough at home. You can either take photos of your completed purses (one of each one) or you could write out the different ways you found as a number sentence like we did above.

TOPIC

You will need the ‘All about Picasso’ powerpoint.

Picasso facts

When we started looking at Spain last week, we heard about a Spanish artist called Pablo Picasso. Today we are going to find out a bit more about who he was. With an adult, read through the powerpoint and see how much you can remember about Picasso.

Write down at least 4 facts you have learned about Picasso. These might include when he was born/died, where he was born. You might find out about some of his famous paintings/art work. It might be information like first words, favourite colours or whether he had brothers or sisters.

Try drawing a picture of Pablo Picasso to complete your fact work.
