Word writing – As yesterday -adult to sound out the following words and allow time for child to write them down a sound at a time. As follows – g-oo-d (encourage child to say the sounds as they write them, remember rhymes for each sound, they may help your child. Make sure the middle sound stays as one sound – do not be tempted to break it down.)

Key words to learn to read and practice writing today are:

can, if, his, him

Today you are going to mime the story of the 3 Billy Goats Gruff. This means you are going to act it out without talking! You will have some help as there is a link to a teacher called Adam who is going to help you do this.

(This is lesson 4 of the Billy Goat Gruff literacy activities on Oak national academy reception lessons.)

Practice counting in whispers and shouts like you did yesterday all the way up to 20. How high can you go counting up to 20 in 2s?

Look at the worksheet – with your finger work around the track and say the missing numbers. Now have a go at writing in the missing numbers to help the baby Billy goat get safely to his big brothers.

Think about the troll from the story. Can you design your own troll? How are you going to make him? Think about what made him scary for the Billy goats and what he looks like?

You can do this activity using any resources that you have at home – you could use empty boxes; craft materials, paints; colouring pens, playdough.
