MATHS

Capacity

We are looking at capacity this week and using the language of full, empty and half full.

Find 3 cups of a similar size at home and see if you can fill one of them full of water, one half full of water and one empty of water. Which is holding the most/least?

What happens if you pour the contents of the full cup into a larger container? How about a smaller container? Is it still full? Does it overflow?

Pour different amounts of water into the three cups – order them from emptiest to fullest.

Use the ‘Introduction to traditional tales’ powerpoint. Ask an adult to read through the information on the powerpoint and discuss which traditional tales and characters they have heard of before.

Use the following link and watch a version of ‘The three little pigs’. After you have finished watching it try and retell it to an adult at home.
