Pupil Premium gives schools extra funding to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils.

 

The pupil premium is allocated to schools for children of statutory school age who are known to be eligible for free school meals (FSM) in both mainstream and non-mainstream settings, to children who have been ‘looked after’ in the care of the Local Authority for one day or more and to children whose parents are currently serving in the armed forces.

 

Schools must spend the extra funding to raise the attainment of disadvantaged groups.
