  • Robin class make their choice

Thu 26 Jan 2017 Mrs Boddington
Robin class went to choose their charity this morning. They voted for the charity they think we should support for the next year. Here are a few pictures of the children in action!
  • School Closure Arrangements

Thu 12 Jan 2017 Mrs Haskew

With talk of possible snow and cold weather forecast we thought we would let you know what arrangements are in place for school closure and bad weather.

If we need to close the school for any reason we will notify Milton Keynes Council who will publish it on the website at http://www.milton-keynes.gov.uk/closures and inform local radio. We will also change the banner on the website to say school closed and send you a text using our alert service.

In the event of poor weather when the school is open we will clear a path across the playground to the hall door and all children will enter school through this entrance. We do not open the doors before 8:45am, but in the event of poor weather causing travel disruption we will keep our gates and registers open until 9:15am.

  • School Dinner and School Values

Thu 12 Jan 2017 Mrs Haskew
The new school meals are proving a real hit with our children. This young man went to tell the cooks that the pasta was lovely. We are very proud when children demonstrate the school values independently - in this case appreciation.
  • KS1 Spellings

Thu 12 Jan 2017 Miss Geyton

In KS1 we are introducing weekly spellings for your child to learn at home. These spellings will be published on your child's class website page on a Friday and will then be tested the following Friday in school.

The new English National Curriculum highlights the importance of being able to spell words accurately and through our daily RWI sessions in school we cover a lot of work on being able to spell decodable words (those that can be sounded out phonetically).

The weekly spellings will focus on 'common exception words', those words which are tricky and are not phonetically regular i.e. they cannot be sounded out. An example of a tricky word is ‘was’ – the phonetic spelling would be “woz”. The correct spelling of a tricky word has to be learnt and remembered. This takes lots of practice!

For tips on helping your child to learn their spellings, please see the information on the class pages under the spellings tab in the home learning section.

If you have any questions regarding this then please speak to your child's class teacher or myself as English subject leader

    Kind regards

  • Welcome to our new Caretaker

    Thu 12 Jan 2017 Mrs J Haskew

We are delighted that Miss Njuguna is now our school caretaker.

The children already know Miss Njuguna and have been told that her new job is to keep the school warm, safe and clean for them.
