  • Book Fair

    Wed 10 Oct 2018

We have our book fair arriving in school tomorrow, again provided in conjunction with Scholastic books. Your child should have already come home with a leaflet outlining just some of the books that will be available for you to purchase as well as some vouchers to help save money on certain books.

The book fair will be open after school on the following days from 3:15-3:30 - Wednesday 10th, Thursday 11th and Friday 12th October as well as Monday and Tuesday the 15th and 16th next week.

Children can visit the book fair with their parents/carers. Please take note of the opening times and be patient as the teachers can only open the book fair once their classes have been safely dismissed.

    Many Thanks

  • MUSIC

    Wed 23 May 2018 D Elleman

Following our whole school assembly yesterday, when we explored music and musical instruments from around the world, I suggested to the children that over the half term break if they would like to make their own musical instrument, there will be a prize for the best one when we return to school.

The closing date for entries is Friday 8th June 2018.

  • RE: REPLACEMENT BOILER WORK

Tue 17 Apr 2018 Diane Elleman

    Dear Residents of Scatterill Close

    RE: REPLACEMENT BOILER WORK

Following ongoing problems that we have been having at Priory Common School with the boilers which control the heating, I am writing to inform you that from tomorrow (Wednesday 18th April 2018) work will be carried out to replace our boilers.

To enable this to happen, the company undertaking the work (SDG Services) will need to bring a number of items to the site which will involve large vehicles (a skip lorry, vans for the workmen and a lorry to deliver the new boilers) driving along Scatterill Close. It is expected that the skip will be delivered on site at approximately 7.30am tomorrow morning. The workmen will be on site each day at 7.30am and will finish at approximately 4.30pm. The work is likely to take up to 1 month. As a significant amount of space in the car park will be taken up with the SDG Services vehicles and the skip, there could be an additional need for school staff to park along Scatterill Close.

In light of the above, can I ask for your co-operation in parking off road as much as possible to enable the vans and lorries to get along Scatterill Close and onto the school site?

Should there be any problems with this, please don’t hesitate to contact me at the school.

    Yours sincerely

  • Free Online Safety Workshop for Parents and Carers

    Mon 05 Mar 2018

Muddled by Minecraft or rattled by Roblox? NSPCC and O2 are running an hour-long interactive workshop with tips, tools and advice on how to keep your child safe online. Talking about online safety with your child doesn’t need to be difficult – build your confidence to have those important conversations, get to know your child’s online world and learn where to go for help and advice.

The workshop will take place at Bradwell Village School on Wednesday 21 March at 2:15pm – 3:15pm. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity!

Make sure you RSVP by responding to BVS school office on 01908 318088.

The provider of this workshop is aware that Priory Common parents and carers will need to collect their children at 3:00pm and will structure the workshop accordingly.

  • Parking

    Tue 27 Feb 2018 D Elleman
It has come to our attention that parents are parking on the entrance road and grass verge blocking vehicle access to the main school gates. Can we please reminder you that no parking is allowed in this area. Thank you.
  • Smoking and Parking Matters

Thu 08 Feb 2018 Diane Elleman

It has been brought to my attention by local residents, that groups of parents/carers are meeting on Rawlins Road to talk and whilst doing so they are smoking. This is resulting in littering as numerous cigarette ends are being left in the area. Can I urge parents and carers to be mindful of their impact on the cleanliness of the local area and the need to take litter home with you.

I am also concerned about how some parents are parking close to the school gates, including parking on the pavements and the zigzag lines. Please park away from the school so that there is clear visibility for anyone who needs to cross the road.

Thank you for your support in these matters.
